About REPLICA: An astonishing documentary about three women who pursue relationships with AI-boyfriends.
Qin is a factory worker who longs for connection, Sonya is a curious tech enthusiast disillusioned with real-life relationships, and Muna is a housewife craving romance and affirmation. What the three of them have in common is that they are among the many Chinese women who have turned to AI boyfriends in order to fulfill their emotional needs.
REPLICA documents their pursuit of love, offering an honest depiction of modern loneliness. Phenomena once confined to science fiction films like HER are rapidly becoming reality, and this captivating documentary explores the joys and risks of giving your heart to a language model.
